Katie Severance

Katie Severance

Katie Severance has been in the real estate industry for over 20 years, specializing in luxury properties. She is the author of “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Selling Your Home” (Penguin, 2010) and “The Brilliant Home Buyer: 101 Tips for Buying a Home in the New Economy” (Amazon, 2020). Virtually hundreds of clients have entrusted her to buy and sell, provide advice, counsel and also to oversee their homes when not in residence.

When she and her husband, Bob Severance, relocated to coastal Palm Beach County from Northern New Jersey, they immediately saw a need for a highly professional Home Watch company for seasonal homeowners, snowbirds, and others who are often not in residence for periods of time.

They have owned and renovated multiple homes —as well as investment real estate. Katie has worked with literally hundreds of contractors and has seen and/or dealt with every conceivable issue, problem, or home repair that can crop up. Katie first fell in love with real estate as a young adult, spending two summers on the Italian islands of Sardinia and Elba and marveling at the Mediterranean architecture which is so influential in Palm Beach County, FL.

Prior to her real estate career, Katie was an Emmy Award winning Producer/Writer working on a variety of programs; most notably as Associate Producer of The Joan Rivers Show. It was working with Joan, and interviewing celebrities, where she began her long path interacting with entertainers, athletes, and hi-net worth individuals; and understanding the importance of quality, responsive, top-tier concierge service.

Katie and Bob live with their son in Historic College Park, Lake Worth Beach and have extended family members in the So-So neighborhood of West Palm Beach.

Katie has been interviewed and quoted in the media, on real estate topics, in such outlets as bankrate.com, U.S. News and World Report, Woman’s World, and MSNBC.
Bob Severance

Bob Severance

Bob Severance has dedicated his thirty year career in NYC to servicing Fortune 500 companies in the fast-paced, client-oriented world of global advertising. Top-tier client services have been the focus of his entire professional life. Integrity, clear and consistent communication, and fast response time have been the hallmarks of his career.

Bob and Katie (the two principals of West Palm Beach Home Management) have a long and immersive history in real estate, renovation, and home management. The Severances have owned and renovated several homes — as well as investment real estate. They have seen and/or dealt with every conceivable issue, problem, or repair that can crop up.

As a young adult, Bob spent summers managing his family’s island properties and boats in the Thousand Islands in northern NY State. He has a very keen understanding of the attention to detail required of coastal homeownership, attendant boats, and dock maintenance. He knows firsthand that there is always something to keep up with on a waterfront property.

When Bob is not working, he can be found fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, or playing tennis. Aside from his wife and son, Jack – the other great loves of his life are his two English Springer Spaniels.
